We make no claims in order to avoid regulatory concerns which have not otherwise tested Lugol's solution for specific conditions or uses. Lugol's has been widely recognized as a traditional and metabolic disinfectant for almost 200 years.

J.CROW'S® Lugol's Solution is made from elemental iodine and potassium iodide in distilled water. It is equivalent to USP or higher and of the highest purity and the very same type and quality a doctor may recommend when prescribing iodine (which only a doctor may do). The iodine and potassium iodide used in J.CROW'S® Lugol's Solution is derived from natural salt brine deposits 2 miles beneath the surface, in the Western United States, one of the few places in the world where such deposits exist. It is compounded and manufactured in a registered EPA manufacturing facility which produces numerous USP certified bulk products according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Current Good Manufacturing Practices.

Lugol's has been in continuous use since 1829. As a unique chemical mixture it has a wide range of diverse applications, many of which are non medical or supplemental; water purification, general purpose disinfectant (within a number of different industries), chemical reagent, etc. to name a few.

While the history and usefulness of iodine is well known and while Dr. Jarvis understood the benefits of its many diverse applications (as few others do today), we make no claims with respect to its efficacy for any purpose whatsoever.

J.CROW'S® Lugol's Solution is made from Distilled Water (H2O), Potassium Iodide (KI), and Iodine (I). The product is a stable chemical mixture and does not “expire”. In technical applications a retest date of 3 years from date of purchase may be used to establish and re check specific parameters or guidelines. In case of evaporation add distilled water.

A variation in the color of Lugol's Solution of Iodine, both 2% and 5%, may be caused by storage conditions, extreme temperature in transit (hot or cold), or any number of other environmental variables. 

If you are concerned about color variation, you may return any bottle you like for an exchange or full refund.

Please note the following: We use a natural rubber bulb with our dropper assembly; a material used for such purposes for over 100 years. Iodine is a disinfectant,highly corrosive and drying agent/halogen. If subjected to extreme temperatures, certain levels of humidity or dryness or not stored upright this corrosion and drying may occur and affect the rubber bulb. Most times it never happens. Nonetheless, J.CROW'S® guarantees customer satisfaction and guarantees every bottle sold for the life of the bottle. We will replace any dropper assembly or dropper bulb at any time at no charge for customers within the United States. International orders ship with an extra dropper top. With over 50 years of manufacturing experience, we have determined that a glass pipette dispensing assembly is far superior for accurate measurement than any other method available. Orifice reducer tops are not satisfactory since there is no control for dispensing accurately. Bottles with two tops mean you have to interchange and iodine gets all over the place. Any bulb and pipette assembly dispensing a halogen are potentially subject to corrosion, drying or evaporation through membrane leakage. We are aware of all these variables and stand by our product, the dispensing system, and its efficacy, in every instance.
